HISTORY OF THE ENTIRE

The origin of the Foundation for Agriculture Education is linked to the abolition of the majority of religious corporations in Umbria, which occurred following the issuance of the decree Pepoli of 11 December 1860, which led to the expropriation of religious property in favor of the nascent Italian state.

The institution has the purposes and the assets indicated in the R.D. January 21, 1892 n. XXII, which established that "the patrimony of the suppressed religious house of the Benedictines Cassinesi of San Pietro in Perugia is constituted in autonomous moral entity, under the direct and exclusive authority of the state and with the denomination of Foundation for the Agrarian Education in Perugia ".

The institutional aims of the Foundation, which is under the supervision of the Ministry of University and of scientific and technological research, consist in the promotion of research and education in the field of agricultural sciences and in the custody and conservation of the monumental part of the San complex. Peter and other assets declared to be of historical and artistic interest.

The institution promotes, also in collaboration with the Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities, cultural activities in the archival and paleographic, bibliographic, artistic and historical fields.

 

CULTURE AND CULTURE

This is the brand of the Foundation for Agrarian Education. CULTURE The Foundation for Agrarian Education in Perugia is the owner of the monumental complex and the Basilica of San Pietro, a real art gallery, rich in valuable works that make it the second museum in Umbria after the National Gallery of Umbria . The Complex of St. Peter is a magical place, which still gives off the charm of its millennial history, thanks to the presence not only of the basilica but also of the bell tower, the three cloisters, the new staircase, the ancient chapter hall, the refectory, the medieval garden, library and historical archive, heritage of the ancient Benedictine community that settled in Perugia in the 10th century. From May 2018 a multimedia tablet application is available for a guided tour of the Basilica and its splendid works of art. This initiative, thanks to which it is made available to visitors for free, the device for the multimedia visit, allows you to organize free routes, adaptable to various needs. As part of its institutional activities, the Foundation is committed to the protection and enhancement of the extraordinary historical and artistic heritage handed down by the Benedictines and is particularly careful to organize and propose initiatives, which can be appreciated by citizens, tourists and all lovers of 'art. The Foundation promotes important exhibition events. After the great success of the exhibition dedicated to Sassoferrato, he organized a new initiative entitled Luce Figura Paesaggio. Masterpieces of the seventeenth century in Umbria, curated by Prof. Cristina Galassi, born as a sign of a close collaboration between institutions, local institutions and private collectors and wants to shed light on the enormous artistic heritage of the seventeenth century in Umbria. The exhibition, inaugurated on November 9th 2018, will run until June 30th 2019 and is a unique opportunity to admire works that have never been seen before, gathered in the magnificent setting of the Galleria Tesori d'Arte of the monumental Complex of San Pietro.

 

CULTURE
The Agricultural Education Foundation owns an agricultural company of 1,900 hectares in which cereals, pulses and wine and oil products are cultivated, among other things.
The Foundation is also the owner of an important breeding of Chianina cattle, fed with self-produced raw materials, which produces high quality meat.
The Foundation is able to offer to the numerous visitors of the San Pietro complex, about 20,000 in 2018, not only the pleasure to appreciate a prestigious artistic heritage but also to taste, in its bar, typical products guaranteed and of excellent quality, coming from the agricultural company of the same institution.
The Foundation sells its products also through a flourishing activity of Short Chain.
We think that the TIP programme is a very positive experience; in particular the work made by Ruotong Lee - that translated the text of paintings of the Basilica “San Pietro in Perugia” - was been very important for Fondazione because will permit to promote the art work of the Basilica at the Chinese people. For Ruotong Lee this experience was been helpful for improve her language skills, her Italian culture and history, and the most important asset of Italian tourism.
We hope that this experience will establish relationships with Republic of China and in particular through the collaboration with Ruotong Lee, that was been a very efficient resource for us.
