(台灣 KPMG實習生 陳同學)
Time flies so fast that July seen to be just not long ago, but it is the end of my internship, I feel it is so much learned in my internship, I learned the process of auditing and the context of the accounting firm and the I understand my career plan in the future.
I always believe internship is beneficial to me so once I heard the international internship I decided to try it. I apply many programs at the same time. I apply for volunteer in TVGH because I believe it is meaningful to me. I served patients and catch up with other volunteers, these people gave me a lot of opinions in my career.
I also apply for double major in law and I learned how useful and importance in my internship.
After I entered KPMG, I feel it is so different between school and firm. In college, I studied what the school provided but in KPMG I need to solve the problem popped and learn everything and no one will asked to teach me unless I asked the question. Normally, IC will solve all the problems immediately because what I faced now they faced it before. The difference between me and the senior is the senior will find the answer by himself and not asked questions all the time. KPMG is highly busy so no one can teach you all the time. This is the first question I asked manager that don’t you feel doing WP is very hard in the beginning? The answer I got is don’t you learned it before in college and KPMG provides core1, it helps you linked what you learned in school and what you did in KPMG. I felt very frustrated but I learned practice makes perfect and I need time to practice it. I find another problem that I did WP for myself but not for reviewer so I always got complained that it is hard to review my WP and I feel depressed in the beginning but I learned maybe I am not ok for KPMG but I can devoted myself in CPA license and thinking about the problem and I feel I would not know all the problems if I don’t go for internship in KPMG.
I feel it is a challenge to go for internship. It tested my theory learned in college can be used in accounting firm or not and the most important, how to get along with my team member and the client. I feel I can’t get along with my team member well but I can get along with client well so IC always said I should apply for salesman. I believe it is what I got in internship and I appreciate to be intern in Taipei because it forced me to do my best to solve all the problems by myself but not comfortable life.
I faced all kinds of client in Taipei and I appreciate it because it taught me how to get along with all kinds of people and I appreciate all the people I faced this year because they taught me so much and helped me understand who I am and my future and I need to appreciate manager and IC and all the client especially, thank you.
