‘‘To do what you have not done is called growth, do what you don’t want to do things called change, do what you dare to do things called a breakthrough.’’

— Warren Buffett

Because joined the marketing planning competition, I put the theory that learned into practice effectively in competitions. From this experience, understood that these is a gap between what I learned and what we will do in the future. That’s why I wanted to apply this internship program. As an international business student, I want to increase my international experience, according my major. I believe that work with people from different countries can make my foreigner language to higher level. Moreover, found a student shared her Italy internship program in Business Weekly magazine, wish I can be like her.

The company which I intern in is an agency specialize organize events, and most famous one is Eurochocolate festival. Before Eurochocolate, started post on every social media, discussed the stand’s details with sponsors, and prepared for the press conference and chocolate summit. During Eurochocolate festival, learned variety of marketing strategies from each stand. Knew the importance of interacting with customers, as well as tasted chocolate from whole world. Also, understood the history of chocolate and the process of making chocolate from bean to bar.

Besides work, I traveled out of Perugia with my friends. From accommodations to traffic, all of all were searched by our own. Even thought there were lots of wonderful memories, there’s also some tough time. When we visited in southern Italy, my suitcase was stolen during the night bus from Bari to Perugia. At that time, I was super depressed and wanted to cry, however, I didn’t cry and panic. Just asked the bus driver what can I do for solve this problem. I think it called growth. The night before left Italy, I was robbed by a scooter rider on the street in Rome. At once, I wasn’t feel scared but grabbed my bag vigorously. Seemed can face challenges and be calm down to solve the problems. This is what I can’t learned in Taiwan.

‘‘When you talk to people in their foreign language, they will talk to you with the brain; however, when you talk to them in their native language, they will talk to you with the heart.’’ I have ever heard of this from the person who learned many languages by himself. Always afraid of making mistakes about my Italian pronunciations or grammar, therefore I don’t dare to greet in Italian. Thanks to this experience, I learned that no matter how poor my Italian is, Italian people won’t care as much as I thought. The point is trying your best and getting my foot in the door bravely. Once greeting with Italian in Italian, they become more delightfully and aggressively have a conversation with me.
