(Fondazione Lungarotti
The journey started from last year, when I still a graduate student who was wondering what to do in the future, it occurs to me that “why don’t I try to find a job abroad?” So, I tried to Google it, and I typed “Italy+work” I found the Taiwan-Italy internship program. After reading the introduction of TIP program, I was so excited that it’s a program that accepting people from different schools to apply! So I did it, and pass the interview, and flied to Italy at September 9th, 2014.
When we arrived with excited, we have started our journey in Perugia, Italy. After two weeks, we started our works eventually. The organization that I work for is named Fondazione Lungarotti, it means Lungarotti foundation, it aim to promote the culture of wine and olive oil, so it manage two museums to do it. Lungarotti is a big group, but foundation is a small organization. There are only four employees(including myself), one of them is the director- Maria Grazia Lungarotti, and staff helping coordinate things who named Franca and Lucia, Lucia is my tutor.
We had internship, classes, traveling and living together. During five months we went to many places in Italy, including Venice, Roma, Pompeii, Napoli, Bari, Pisa, Florence, Milan…etc. I went to Barcelona with friends, and went to United Kingdom during Christmas vacation. I am so thankful this opportunity that let me go to Italy, experiencing these I can’t have in Taiwan, having many friends in Taiwan and Italy. And thanks to Taiwan Italy program again!During these five months, Lucia and I were co-operating many works. First of them is translation, I translated many files for groups and foundations, such as brochures about group and wines that we produced, some internal files, and foundation’s website. Second, I did some research on social media including facebook fan page and tripadvisor. What I did in Facebook research was comparing our museum post and two famous museums in Taiwan, and in tripadvisor page, I read the comments that visitors left, and tried to find out what are good points and bad points they thought, summarized them and had a solution to my tutor. Last work was marketing to east market, we invited friends who join TIP program to visit Lungarotti group, preparing a “wine trip.” When everyone arrived, we had an English guide tour in winery by Grazia who is the professional guide. After one hour we went to wine museum, in museum I guided everyone in Chinese. In the end, we had a wine tasting together. When this day trip almost finished, I gave everyone a questionnaire to collect people’s opinion about this trip. Not only this trip to promote group and find out what is Asian want, I also sent promoting emails to Taiwan’s travel agencies. I’d learned a lot from Lucia, thank you very much!
