To be able to have a chance to live in a new environment is a great way to experience personal growth. After graduating from university, almost all students will have some kind of worries about their future. Even though we've studied very hard throughout our years in school, and have also worked part-t ime jobs for several years, but it's still uncertain whether or not we will be able to find good jobs after graduating. So to be able to go to a new place to live will all ow us to think more harder about our futures. Living abroad will make us think about what things we really want in our lives and what things we don't. I'm very honored to be get this opportunity to go to Italy, and also this opportunity to be able to live my life in a new way.

To study abroad is the dream of many people, but if you don't actually go out and do it, then it will just remain a thought, a wish. To study abroad you need plan many things, as there's always a greater chance of running into unexpected events. For example, living with new roommates, language ability, money management, and handling different kinds of pressures. Studying abroad is the best way for training yourself how to be independent. Dependence can be separated into two kinds: one kind is independence in your outside world, the other is emotional independence. We need to be able to have a good balance of these two in order to handle any unexpected things that we're not prepared to deal with. These things that happen may not necessarily go along with how you logically think they should progress. If you have a strong ability to adapt to new ways of lifestyle, then you can make many different kinds of abilities stronger.

Many people consider that living abroad is quite different than living in one's own country. But really life anywhere is just the same, and time passes the same everywhere. No matter where you are you need to manage your time well, y ou also need to be clear of your goals, and keep up your motivation for your studies. Going abroad to study and going abroad to travel have great differences. So your attitude and way of thinking is very important.

I've discovered that Italy and Taiwan have some similar problems. For example, employment for young people, also bad economic situations, and narrow-minded ways of thinking. As well, foreign language skills aren't very strong. This experience in Italy has made me discover that I also have some of these same problems. I know that I should probably be more active in solving these problems, instead of just thinking about them. If we could dedicate more time to implementing our ideals, instead of criticizing and comparing, in this way our society would progress more quickly..

This has been a journey that I'll never forget. I have not only been able to make friends with people from many countries, but also in our exchange group I have made friendships that will last a lifetime. We've learned how to cook together, and have also learned many things about architecture, especially ancient Roman architecture. I really cherish these days in which my friends and I can learn many things from each other. In our daily lives we have deeply felt the Italian culture and spirit. Italians for the most part are very passionate people. They understand the importance of not allowing one's pace of life to be too fast. I really hope that in the future there can be many more young people that can have the experience to study in other countries.
