As different characters, being a good intern is my duty. My mottoes are that everything has meaning and I will fight for it; always treat people well. Therefore, I challenged myself by applying the KPMG internship program.
Every fieldwork is a lesson. It taught me a lot of things, learning teamwork, getting alone with different co-workers, dealing with various customers, communicating effectively with people. When I do my job, I find out that making a note is an important thing because the cases will change, however, the auditing process is the same generally. Practice makes perfect, just likes the saying, auditing also needs to practice, and now the notes will help you. Most of the main cases are stable, so if you remember your customers work style, they can feel respected, and they will more willing to help you. In the firm, professional and personal network are equally important because there are a lot colleagues that might become teammates with you. Every case will have new crews and new customers, how to work together is a big issue. It results in work that can finish by success and efficiency.
When the busy season is coming, everyday schedule is tight; it made me want to quit my job. Fortunately, there are many interns that are my classmates and they can be my backup. I said to myself: “Keep calm and Carry on.” Then everything goes well. Annual financial report auditing is a certain hard work, but I can learn many skills that wouldn’t read in book from it. Instead of complaint, I should take the chance to learn. Now, I want to stay and carry on. Sometimes, I just can’t cross the barrier, and felt frustrated. Now, I had learned to ask my colleagues for help timely because if you can’t deal with the problem immediately by yourself or ask someone, it could procrastinate team progress.
Although I had encountered many barriers because of those barriers, I had a chance to learn more. As crossing the barrier, I am stronger than before and more confident with myself. People had been helping me a lot since I had went in KPMG. I can’t get to the next level without everyone’s help.
For me, KPMG is a Academic halls. Work is a part of my life. Everyone found themselves overwhelmed with the heavy workload, but tried to found a little happiness in work. KPMG is more like a holy place of learning. I had been learning a lot of professional abilities during this year, lastly but not least, I am thankful that KPMG and school could provide me such a wonderful opportunity, then I realize what an accounting firm is, and it makes me determine to set my goal in the future. I benefit greatly from this internship program.
