In 2010, our program director signed an agreement with the University of Perugia in Italy to create the Taiwan-Italy International Internship Program. The goal was to train students to become competitive in the global marketplace, and this program has since become a cornerstone of our international internship programs. The program is built on two themes: multiculturalism and international internship; it combines academic training and work experience and allows students to immerse themselves in a different culture, experience living independently, and learn to work as part of a team. In the eight years since its inception, we have sent a total 84 interns abroad, which included students from Tunghai University and students from other schools; we have had students from schools such as National Taiwan University, National Tsing Hua University, National Taipei University, National Chung Hsing University, Yuan Ze University, Tamkang University, Feng Chia University, Soochow University, National United University, and National Chin-Yi University of Technology participate in this program.
We partner with local universities who act as host universities for our students. The professors at the host university assign the internships according to the background and interests of the students. If international students come to intern in Taiwan, Tunghai University will act as the host university and assign students to intern at the local businesses with which we have working relationships.
In Italy, we have partnered with the following universities:
Currently, we also have internship opportunities in Germany and the United Kingdom.
